Platinum is one of the few pen manufacturers to offer celluloid pens and their offerings have a vintage appeal in a modern pen. Celluloid can come in many stunning colors and patterns. Celluloid is a flammable, half transparent material which is made by mixing nitric-cellulose (sulfuric acid and nitric acid are added to cellulose), camphor and alcohol. Celluloid must be dried for more than six months before it is used to prevent deformation and twisting.
