In 1905, the Wiener Werkstatte ("Vienna Workshops") began producing printed and woven textiles, many design by artists such as the Austrian painter, Gustav Klimt (1862-1918). For nearly thirty years, the workshops produced refined and graphically elegant designs, distinctive in their use of flat shapes and bold colors. It is on a printed textile designed about 1920 by Klimt, and now in the conllection on The Metropolitan Museum of Art, that this ballpoint pen is based. Gift of Joanne F. du Pont and John F. Pleasants, in memory of Enos Rogers Pleasants, III, 1984.

The highlight of the pen is the smooth twist-action ballpoint system, activated by turning the tip cone. The Metropolitan Museum of Art logo appears on the cap top. Brass base metal body with heavy chrome plate accents.

Handsomely packaged in a color coordinated paperboard gift box. Uses the smooth writing Waterford Ballpoint refills. One refill is included, installed in the pen. Limited 1 Year Warranty.
